Silver Jubilee Concert

The Winds celebrate their 25th anniversary and commissioned the piece, “Arkansas Journey” from Jeremy Doss. He is an award-winning composer, published songwriter, has scored numerous short and independent feature films and is a member of the Winds trumpet section. His composition, “Arkansas Journey”, uses the tune “The Arkansas Traveler” as a theme to take us on a journey around the Natural State to visit the state’s five unique geographic regions. The piece references the fiddle music influence of the Ozark Mountains, the Arkansas River Valley and its role as the Gateway to the Indian Territory, the unique beauty of the Ouachita Mountains, the Cajun music influence of the Gulf Coastal Plain, and the Blues of the Mississippi Delta.
